Niche supply bespoke or standard carcases & drawers which are manufactured locally with an 18mm thick chipboard.

All our chipboard however is manufactured in Germany.

When looking at the quality of chipboard we need to first look at the compression rate. A compression rate is graded between 0 – 10. The higher the compression rate, the stronger the chip board which makes for a more durable carcass, consequently your kitchen will last longer.

As a comparison: A compression rate of 0-1 would be the lowest quality. Grade 5 – 6 which is most commonly used, may show signs of aging faster than expected. At Niche we only use grade 9 – 10 chipboard, chipboard of this compression rate is exceedingly durable and guarantees you a high quality product every time.

To prevent peeling and damage, all Niche carcases & drawers are manufactured with a 2mm or 3mm PVC Edging, depending on your choice.

All carcases & drawers are colour co-ordinated with your doors, ensuring a beautiful kitchen every time.

All Niche drawers are complete with BLUM motion, which is also optional on doors. BLUM motion is a soft closing mechanism. A slight push will allow your drawer or door a controlled close every time…Very handy for Deep Pan Drawers, as a soft close prevents damage from pots and pans.
