Please find following a list of popular questions and answers to assist you with the preparation and development of your newly fitted kitchen.

Q: When will my new kitchen be delivered?

A: For our Supply Only, DIY and Trade customers your new kitchen furniture will be delivered on your requested delivery date.  For our customers who choose our Free Project Management service your new kitchen furniture will be delivered on the day we arrange for your kitchen installation to commence, therefore your kitchen installation will commence the day your new kitchen is delivered. 

Q: Do I need to be available tor the delivery?

A: For our Supply Only, DIY and Trade customers you will need to be available to accept and sign for your kitchen delivery.  For our customers who choose our Free Project Management service we will accept all deliveries for you.

Q: What do I need to do before the commencement date?

A: You will need to completely empty all your cupboards.  You will also need to make room for the delivery of your new kitchen as even though we will begin to install your kitchen the day it is delivered, much of the kitchen furniture will need to be stored.  If you are unsure, please contact our sales department on Free phone 0808 155 5753 who will be happy to answer any of your questions.  Please be aware you are about to go through a very disruptive period whilst your new kitchen is being installed.  Take extreme protective precautions against dust to your living environment before commencement, dust will get into the air and travel throughout.  Please protect any valuable items inside and outside of your house.

Q: Am I protected once I have paid my deposit?

A: As a member of the KBSA - Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Standards Association, Niche Kitchens is continuously vetted to ensure that the stringent standards set for the industry are maintained to full membership criteria.  As a member of the KBSA, Niche Kitchens ensure your deposit is insured.

Q: When is payment made?

A: A 30% deposit of your kitchen furniture cost is paid to Niche Kitchens when you confirm your kitchen installation.  The final balance of your entire kitchen furniture cost is paid on the first delivery of your kitchen furniture - either by cash or bankers draft.  For those who choose our Free Project Management service the final labour charges will be paid on completion of each labour estimate to the Sub-Contractor, for example:  plastering will be paid when the plastering is finished to the Sub-Contractor we have arranged for you to do the plastering. 

Q: When am I able to use my sink and appliances?

A: Please prepare yourself for alternative arrangements for two weeks.  This is not usually the case, our professional kitchen installers aim to have all your facilities working within a few days, however, if preparations are made in advance then there are no disappointments.

Q: What happens if I decide to make changes after I have confirmed my kitchen, paid my deposit or work has begun?

A: If you decide to make changes after you have confirmed your kitchen or a deposit has been paid we will ensure, where possible, these changes are made as per your request.  Any additional charges, if applicable, will correspond to materials and labour costs which have been charged to Niche Kitchens due to the lateness of the request.  The change penalties are outlined in your contract and will only apply if Niche Kitchens have suffered penalty charges.

Q: Is there a contract to protect me?  When do I receive a copy?

A: There is a contract put in place, your contract outlines your care & maintenance and your warranty information, you will receive a copy of your contract when you pay your kitchen deposit.  Furthermore Niche Kitchens have achieved full membership with the Kitchens Bathrooms Bedrooms Standards Association (KBSA).  This membership guarantees confidence you are using a reputable and reliable company, each member is constantly vetted to ensure stringent standards are met.  More importantly giving you financial protecting as advance payments, work in progress and your 6 year warranty is fully insured.

Q: What happens with the removal of the old kitchen and the packaging off the new kitchen?

A: Niche Kitchens offer a service whereby we will remove and dispose of your old kitchen for you free of charge, this service includes a full sized skip which will be delivered to your house or specified site.  You may organise your own rubbish removal if you choose to; please note there is a substantial amount of rubbish from your new kitchen installation.  Niche Kitchens will only supply one full size skip per kitchen installation, removing rubbish by any other means of removal will not offered, any additional skips will be charged accordingly.

Q: When can I receive a kitchen floor plan of my new kitchen design?

A: Your new kitchen design will be presented and discussed with you during your kitchen design consultation.  However, only once your kitchen deposit is paid may a cad drawing of your kitchen floor plan be provided to you, Niche Kitchens may provide you with a full 3 dimensional elevation view of your new kitchen for you to take home with you after your kitchen design consultation for you to consider at your leisure.

Q: What if I need to delay my new kitchen installation?

A: Niche Kitchens will try to accommodate you to the best of our ability if you decide to delay your kitchen installation. There is a lead time with all kitchen installations therefore Niche Kitchens will endeavour to book you in on our first available kitchen installation date, rest assure Niche Kitchens have your best interests at heart and will do whatever we can to ensure minimum disruption.

Q: Are there a warranty with my appliances, sinks and tap?

A: Yes - these are provided by the manufacturer.  All paperwork of which will be left within your kitchen during your kitchen installation.  Please remember to register each warranty for your new appliances, sinks and taps within 1 month of your kitchen delivery date.  Any faults or damages found on your appliances, sinks and taps after delivery will be repaired under the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty.  Niche Kitchens or any other engineer, unless otherwise appointed by the manufacturer, cannot attempt to repair any appliance, sink or tap as this will deem any warranty with your manufacturer invalid.

Q: Is there a warranty on my kitchen installation and kitchen furniture?

A: Yes – The KBSA ConsumerCare Plus Workmanship Warranty provides protection for you, the Policy Holder, in respect of the cost of rectifying workmanship defects.  This policy is split into two sections of the cover.  The warranty section of cover runs for a period of 2 years from the completion of your kitchen and provides protection for the Policy Holder in the event that the original contractor has ceased to trade and is therefore unable to honour their obligations in terms of the cost of rectification works that is required to rectify faulty workmanship, originally carried out by the responsibility of the contractor.  The major defects section of cover commences on the expiry of the Warranty period and runs for a further period of 4 years.  This provides protection for the Policy Holder in the event that a major defect has occurred.  A major defect is considered to be an acknowledged defect which is caused by defective workmanship carried out by or which is the responsibility of the contractor which results in rectification work to over 40% of the insured works.  The ConsumerCare Plus insurance scheme is administered by QANW, and should you have any queries about the scheme, it’s workings, policy limits or if you would like to seek confirmation of the cover, please direct these enquiries to QANW – Tel:  01292 268020.
